DAN SEARLESCFP®, CSA®, RFC®, CEP®
dan@medalliongroup.com Founder and Partner of Medallion Financial Group, Dan Searles is an investment advisor and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional with many millions of dollars under his management. Dan is an Investment Advisor Representative with Securities Service Network Inc., a licensed Certified Estate Planner (CEP®), a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA®) and a General Securities Representative of Securities Service Network Inc., a member of the FINRA/SIPC. Dan is a Registered Financial Consultant (RFC®). He submits to the Code of Ethics and the substantial continuing education requirements of the CFP®, CEP® and RFC® organizations and committees. He has been assisting his clients since 1981 and has extensive experience working with individuals and small businesses. Dan gained his financial planning experience through his education and work as a financial planner and investment professional. He is a frequent keynote speaker on retirement planning, tax reduction strategies and estate planning throughout the Metropolitan area. Dan has authored many financial articles in local and national publications. His financial views have been published in The Washington Post and heard on local radio programs. He is a former nationally syndicated columnist for Senior Money Matters. Dan earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Public Administration (government economics) from Towson University, where he obtained Academic Dean’s List Honors every semester. He earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, CO. The CFP® designation covers coursework in estate, investment, retirement, tax and insurance planning. Dan has also successfully completed extensive training programs in estate, disability and life insurance planning from the Life Underwriter’s Training Council Fellowship. Dan, a resident of Maryland since 1968 and Damascus High graduate, has been married to his wife, Eydie, since 1981 and has three wonderful children. In his free time, he volunteers for several church and civic charities, including Gaithersburg HELP and 4-H. At the discretion of the mayor, Dan also serves on various Gaithersburg City advisory task forces and committees. Dan enjoys writing, recording and publishing music and lifting weights, fishing with his son and coaching little league baseball and football teams.
